Shepherd's Purse

Shepherd's Purse (Capsella bursa-pastors) has astringent and vasoconstrictive properties that can help reduce excessive bleeding and is used for women that experience heavy menstrual cycles. It is also used to effectively reduce postpartum bleeding. Shepard's Purse has anti-inflammatory properties that provide relief from painful menstrual cramps and other painful issues like gout, arthritis, and muscle and joint pain. Its astringent and hemostatic (reduce flow of blood), and antibacterial properties are helpful in healing minor wounds and abrasions. Shepherd's Purse can also be used to treat urinary and bladder infections.
